Homemade Baby Food Product Must Haves With Walmart

Baby products are always changing, and new things are constantly coming out!  Every mama wants the best products available for their precious little bundle!  Walmart is currently having their semi-annual Best of Baby sale!  Walmart is offering over 700 deals online and a handful of Rollbacks available in store.  With deals like this going on, I figured now is a good time to go ahead and list my favorite items I use for making baby food for y’all!

The products I’m listing are products that truly help make life less stressful and a bit less messy when your baby starts eating solids.  Making my own baby food was like speaking a foreign language when I started doing it for Walt, but once I got the hang of things, it really was easy.  A lot of mamas avoid making their own baby food because they think of it as a huge time commitment, but it honestly isn’t when you use these products!

    1. The Best Homemade Baby Food On The Planet book literally SAVED me! It is such an amazing baby cookbook! It tells you what foods to feed your baby by the month, how to do prepare the food, how to best store food for bulk cooking batches, guidelines on how much to give your baby, and so much more!
    2. The Infantino Fresh Squeeze Station Baby Food Maker is the product I’ve been showing on my Instagram stories a lot that many of y’all have been asking about!  It. Is. So. Good!  Such a simple product at such a good price!  It will save you tons of time, too!  Using this product, it made it easy to cook in bulk.  I’m able to set aside a short amount of time in a single day and make a few weeks worth of food.  I store what I don’t currently need in these pouches in the freezer until I’m ready for them!
    3. Infantino Pouch Spoons are great for on the go feedings!  They come in a little carrier case for safe storage, and attach to the end of the Infantino pouches.  I always keep these spoons in our diaper bag.  When I’m on the go, I just throw an Infantino pouch in the diaper bag as I’m running out the door and then attach the spoon when it’s time for Vivi to eat!
    4. Re-Play bowls are my new favorite bowls for Vivi.  They come in packs of four and are the prettiest feminine colors!  They have great colors for boys too!  They are top-rack dishwasher safe, and just the right size!
    5. Nuby Heat Safe Spoons are perfect for gummy little babies.  It’s soft on the tips so it doesn’t hurt their gums while they are figuring out how to eat.  The feature I like the most with these spoons is that they change color to white when the food is too hot for them to eat.
    6. Kushies Silisoft Waterproof Bib is perfect to keep in your diaper bag! We used this often whenever we go out to eat.  It rolls up so it’s easy to store.  It also wipes clean easily!
    7. Aveeno Baby Wipes are kept everywhere around my house!  I have a pack in our diaper bag, a pack in our car for wiping dirty hands after the park, and a pack in our house by Vivi’s high chair!  They are super gentle on baby skin, and work great!
    8. Silicone Baby Bibs are the BEST.  When Walt was a baby we always used cloth ones because I didn’t know these little gems existed.  I was always so bothered by the amount of effort it took to wash baby bibs.  When we started using them with Oliver, cleanup after feeding time became so much simpler.  These bibs are dishwasher safe, but honestly, all you have to do is rinse them off!

    Taste Nirvana

If you’re a fan of coconut water then you have to try Taste Nirvana Coconut Water.  We have been loving it around our house.  Taste Nirvana was even awarded as the best new coconut drink by Better Homes.  They are located in the middle of Thailand’s coconut groves and the drinks are packed within hours of harvest.  Taste Nirvana uses a type of naturally sweet coconut called “Nam Hom”, which translates to “Fragrant Water” in Thai. My OREO Creation

OREOs are my all time favorite, so when the opportunity came for me to partner with them on their My OREO Creation campaign I immediately said yes!  Mondelēz, the makers of OREO cookies, is inviting Walmart shoppers to come join in the fun of their in-store demos and try some of their unique OREO flavors.  Davis and I always love trying out the new flavors OREO comes out with, so we had to go check out the flavors with our little “shnack king”.  It was also a pretty perfect way to kick off Walt’s birthday week! Orzo Goodness

This recipe is so easy, healthy, and good! I can prepare it and have it ready to eat in about 45 minutes.  Fast, healthy meals for my family? Yes, please!  I’m no chef, so I’m very proud to say that I came up with this one completely on my own, with no added help from Pinterest.

I started making this when Walt was first starting solids.  He had a hard time adjusting to certain textures.  He would eat ground meats, but not sliced meats.  He would eat rice but didn’t want any kind of traditional pasta.  I tried orzo, a pasta which looks like a rice, and he loved it.  Mom win!  This recipe is also only 320 calories per serving and packed with protein. Perfect for bikini season, haha.  I added a nutrition chart at the end of this post.  Hope you guys like it! It’s certainly a favorite around my house!  Read more…

    Homemade Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs

DIY Reese's Eggs - Piloting Life

Bathing suit season is just around the corner (or already here where I live), but I just can’t help myself when Easter rolls around and those delicious Reese’s peanut butter eggs come out.  I truly have an addiction to them!  When we pass the display at Target that ALWAYS has bags of Reese’s in it, Walt likes to yell out as loud as he can “there’s mommy’s snack”.  Haha, embarrassing.  I know.  Instead of buying a (giant) pack this year, I decided to try to make some myself.  These turned out so good.  I mean seriously… they are SO good!  I already had every ingredient I needed for the recipe at home except for one, so it was super easy!  They also take very little prep work time, which is a big win for busy mamas like me.DIY Homemade Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs - Piloting Life Read more…

    Crockpot Chicken Tomato Soup

This recipe is one of my all time favorites.  I found it a few years ago while scrolling through my Pinterest feed.  I’ve made all of my family try it, and it’s now one of their favorites too!  I recently have found out that I love to make this soup because hearing Walt say “it’s mato soup time” is truly one of the cutest things ever.  Ahhh, I just love that boy.  Anyways, back to the soup. The BEST Snickerdoodle Cookies

Mother in the kitchen baking snickerdoodle cookies while her son sleeps in her arms

Snickerdoodle cookies are my absolute favorite!  This recipe was actually the first “made from scratch” cookies I ever attempted.  They are really easy, hard to mess up, and a definite crowd pleaser.  I’ve even gotten so confident in my snickerdoodle skills that I bake them for people at my husband’s office during the holidays.

I have the recipe pinned on my Pinterest, so I can’t take credit for this deliciousness.  It’s from  Cookies and Cups, and I can’t begin to explain how happy I am that I found her amazing page!  My sweet Walt goes a little cookie crazy every time I make them because he wants a “big” and not a “little”. Boys…  I’m really in trouble when Oliver gets to the cookie eating stage.  I will have to start hiding a couple for myself! Read more…
