    Happy Birthday Walt!

It’s hard for me to even comprehend that my once teenie tiny baby is now a FOUR-year-old.  The past three years we have thrown a blowout party for him at our house.  This year I decided we would try to do it somewhere else to try and remove some of the stress that comes along with planning a party at home.  We went and checked out the Gulf Coast Exploreum in downtown Mobile, and immediately knew that is where we wanted to have the party.  The staff is so kind, attentive (they setup and take down all of the decor), and they are very reasonably priced.  They also provide a cake if you choose, but we decided to go with our friends at Flour Girls Bakery. Boxed – Hassle Free Wholesale

When it comes to raising babies, there are several items you just have to have in BULK!  Diapers, wipes, and puffs were some of the staples around our house.  When it came to purchasing these necessities, I always attempt to find the largest supply at the best price I can.  Without memberships to any of the warehouse wholesale “clubs,” we would usually buy from a brick and mortar or online retailer that might not be offering the best value.  My life has officially changed for the better now that I know about Boxed.    Read more…

    Baby Wardrobe Refresh

Dressing my babies is one of my FAVORITE things to do.  I literally shop for them more than I shop for myself.  Most of the time, they are even dressed better than I am, haha.  I end up spending so much money every season, especially on Oliver, because he is growing so quickly.  I try to refrain myself from buying them so much, but yall know how it is when all those shops release their new lines.  It’s just so hard to not buy!  When I found Darling Duck I was SO relieved, and I know Davis was too.  Darling Duck is an online monthly subscription where you can borrow affordable outfits and then swap them out whenever you want!

Darling Duck is a monthly subscription-based service that sends you what you need based on the number of outfits you select for your babies.  They ship you the clothes and you keep them as long as your baby can wear them.  You can send anything back at any time.  A return bag, as well as a priority prepaid label, is sent with your order so returns are very easy. Darling Duck offers two bundles: the Mini Bundle provides access to 3 outfits and is ideal for supplementing your baby’s wardrobe, while the Essential Bundle provides access to 6 outfits and can serve most of your baby’s clothing needs. Darling Duck offers boutique quality clothes from 0-24 months, with many top brands including MilkBarn, Finn and Emma, Angel Dear, Spendid, and Toobydoo.  Everything we have gotten so far has been really cute and great for play days!  You can send back one item or everything from your order as often as you want, so if you get something that isn’t quite your style, it’s no problem!  Darling Duck also accepts clothes back in any condition, which is amazing because my boys most certainly know how to make a mess of their clothes no matter how hard I try to prevent it! Another great thing about Darling Duck is that they will let you purchase any outfits you receive that you fall in love with for 60% off retail price.  It’s an all-around great resource for keeping your kid’s closets updated without breaking the bank.  Darling Duck offers a one-month free trial so you can try it out and cancel it without being charged if it just isn’t for you!  I’m so glad that I’ve found out about this company.  It’s easy to use, and so much fun getting clothes in the mail!

    Art of Your Heart

Baby things, especially newborn things, are super sentimental to me.  That newborn stage just goes by WAY too fast.  Walt and Oliver’s teenie tiny bodies grew much faster than I could’ve ever imagined.  Whenever I hold one of my friends’ newborns, it is just so hard to comprehend that my babies were ever that small.  One of the sweetest shops, By Olima, reached out to me about collaborating with their amazing company and I immediately said YES.  The wall art she creates is truly the art of your heart.

    MatiMati Baby

I’m kinda obsessed with dressing my babies.  I swear, I put more time into getting them ready on a daily basis than I do myself.  That’s okay though because #momlife.  Something that drives me crazy is getting them all dressed up for dinner, sitting them at a table at some nice restaurant, and then having to put some obnoxious bib on them.  THE TORTURE.  It seriously irked me for all of Walt’s bib wearing days.  Lucky for Oliver, I’ve found a company that has fixed my problem!

    20 Best Baby Products 2017

Piloting Life - 20 Best Baby Products 2017When I first found out I was pregnant with Walt I was completely overwhelmed when I walked into Babies-R-Us for the first time.  TOTAL sensory overload.  I had no idea what I was supposed to get, how most things worked, or what I even needed.  Thankfully my older sister, Nicole, sent me an email with all of her top baby products that she thought were crucial.

There are so many brands out there that carry similar products, and it is sometimes hard to know what works well and what doesn’t.  We visited multiple baby stores, got a hands on testing experience with our choices, then filled out our registries.  We then went home and read reviews on the products we had chosen and made some changes.  Reading reviews on Amazon and other similar sites absolutely saved us from making some poor decisions!

I decided to make my own list for all of my new mama friends.  Here are twenty of my favorite baby products out of the bajillion out there.  I use the majority of these products almost every day and they are seriously so helpful!  I also added a new “Shop Baby Products” section at the top of my blog for more of my baby + toddler favorite products.  Check it out and let me know what you think!

Sleep Peacefully: Owlet Smart Sock 2

Oliver is moving into his nursery soon, and I’ve been so nervous about it.  We like the comfort of having him in his bassinet right beside our bed and knowing he is doing well.  I have that crazy heightened hearing at night time that so many mamas get when one of our babies are in our room.  I hear EVERYTHING.  A different stroke of him sucking on his paci, a yawn, a sweet little coo, a stretch, I feel like I can even hear when Ollie blinks, haha!  I’m saying all of this to say, I know how he is doing every night because I have the luxury of looking at him whenever I want and making sure his little chest is moving up and down.  When he moves into his nursery I won’t be able to hear all of these little movements. to know my baby is completely safe.  I’ve had so much anxiety about the big move until I got an Owlet Smart Sock 2. KidloLand: A Great App for Tots

    KidloLand - Piloting Life

You know those moments when you just need your tot to sit still for a little bit, but you don’t want them watching endless (and super weird) youtube videos?  I’ve had the worst luck with apps I’ve downloaded that just don’t keep Walt’s attention for very long, which results in him wanting to get on Youtube.  Well, I’ve finally found an app that keeps his attention perfectly!  KidloLand is my new favorite app because it is educational and covers so many different subjects, while also engaging Walt and keeping his attention.
