Organization is one of those things that can just drastically alter my mood. When everything is organized, life is so good. When it is not, I feel like my life is in shambles! True story. With two kids in school, Walt starting to play sports, three pups, and a husband, our schedules are starting to get hectic and someone always has somewhere they need to be. Having this handy dandy START planner has literally made tackling the to-do list so much easier and made my life happier! I can keep up with all of our lives in this one tiny planner. THANK YOU START planner!
I still can hardly believe summer is OVER, Walt started back at school this week, and Oliver starts MDO next week! I’m so glad that I was able to make so many memories with my boys this summer. Beach trips, Disney cruise, Disney World, ice cream dates, splash pads, swimming pools, lazy mornings, dance parties, and non-stop snackin’. I’m going to miss having my boys all to myself, but I’m so thankful for all the intentional time we had together this summer.
It’s hard for me to even comprehend that my once teenie tiny baby is now a FOUR-year-old. The past three years we have thrown a blowout party for him at our house. This year I decided we would try to do it somewhere else to try and remove some of the stress that comes along with planning a party at home. We went and checked out the Gulf Coast Exploreum in downtown Mobile, and immediately knew that is where we wanted to have the party. The staff is so kind, attentive (they setup and take down all of the decor), and they are very reasonably priced. They also provide a cake if you choose, but we decided to go with our friends at Flour Girls Bakery.
When it comes to raising babies, there are several items you just have to have in BULK! Diapers, wipes, and puffs were some of the staples around our house. When it came to purchasing these necessities, I always attempt to find the largest supply at the best price I can. Without memberships to any of the warehouse wholesale “clubs,” we would usually buy from a brick and mortar or online retailer that might not be offering the best value. My life has officially changed for the better now that I know about Boxed.
The end of the school year is almost here, and it’s bringing out so many emotions in me. I can hardly even believe Walt is moving to a new school next year and will be going FIVE days a week (tears). I’ve been looking through pictures I took of him throughout the school year, and I came across the one I took of all of us on his first day of school. I love this picture because it brings back so many memories of his first day, with us dropping him off as a family. I wanted to find a special way to remember it and I came across Snapfish while searching. Snapfish is an online photo store where you can purchase prints, canvas prints, home decor, photo gifts, cards, photo books, and many more items. Scanning their website, I found this Acrylic Photo Desk Set. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the perfect way to remember the occasion. The set is a super clear acrylic photo block magnetically attached to a matching pen holder. The photo block is 5x5x3/4 inches and then pen holder is 1.75×1.75×5 inches so it’s a great size for a desk.
Even though the school year is ending which means my baby is growing up, I have so many special memories of all of the changes he has made this year. I’m thankful for unique items like this one from Snapfish so that I have a ton of ways to document his school year to keep forever. If you’re on the hunt for a graduation gift or graduation cards Snapfish is such a great place to search. If you use code YAYGRAD you can get 40% off your entire purchase!
It’s no secret that I LOVE for my house to be white, bright, and clean! One of my most frequently asked questions is how do I keep my house clean with it being so white. Cleaning for me is therapeutic so I do it daily while listening to my music, and that helps a lot. We have taught Walt and Oliver to eat in the kitchen, so I don’t have to worry about their sticky hands all over our sofa. However, I do have to worry about our rugs and the beating they take from our drooly baby, dirty shoed toddler, messy hubby, two tiny dogs, and the walking dirt and hair factory that is our lovable golden retriever, Nala. We live in one of the rainiest cities in the United States, so our dogs end up with muddy paws from the wet ground on a regular basis. Nala LOVES to play in the rain, but once she’s ready to come inside it’s usually a battle to keep her off of our rugs. She almost always gets a paw print or two on our rug by our backdoor. My cure for that: the Hoover Power Scrub Elite Pet Plus Upright Carpet Cleaner.
Walt had a birthday last week, and I am still trying to get over the fact that my once teenie baby is now THREE! This year is going to be the last year that I host a birthday party at home for him for awhile, so it was my last chance to go all out decorating my house with cute kids decor until Oliver gets older. Walt is obsessed with superheroes, particularly Batman, so I knew right away that would be the perfect theme. Utilizing Batman’s color scheme allowed me to keep the decor monochrome. We learned the hard way on his first birthday not to spend a ton of money on decor, as it rained the entire time and ruined everything! I was thrilled that we were blessed with great weather (minus the BLAZING heat that day with 100% humidity), but this time I was able to find all of his decorations, including invitations, shipped from my favorite new company in Austrailia for under $200!
OREOs are my all time favorite, so when the opportunity came for me to partner with them on their My OREO Creation campaign I immediately said yes! Mondelēz, the makers of OREO cookies, is inviting Walmart shoppers to come join in the fun of their in-store demos and try some of their unique OREO flavors. Davis and I always love trying out the new flavors OREO comes out with, so we had to go check out the flavors with our little “shnack king”. It was also a pretty perfect way to kick off Walt’s birthday week!
I get a lot of questions about how I get pictures with both of my boys paying attention to the camera at the same time. Here are a few things that have worked for me. Let me start off by saying this: I’m not above bribery! It’s no easy task getting the picture I envision if Walt is having a “toddler” day, but with a lot of trial and error, I’ve figured out a few things that work amazingly (most of the time).
